BeaverBeads™ coated with silicon are specially developed for nucleic acid extraction and purification. The surface is modified with a large number of OH or COOH groups. The nucleic acid can be combined by hydrophobic effect, hydrogen bonding and electrostatic action in the solution of high salt and low pH, but won’t combined with other molecular, such as protein. Undecorated beads with hydroxyl silica surface, can extract the blood DNA and RNA from animal and plant tissues and forensic samples in cell culture medium.
